Bio

Markus is a registered Intern Architect, and has worked with Cascadia since 2017 on a wide array of projects ranging from single-family residences to tenant improvements, and multifamily developments. He has been working in architecture since 2001 for firms in Houston and Victoria, and has experience guiding projects from design inception to occupancy in a collaborative and outcome oriented manner.

Do you have any out-of-office roles that you’re passionate about?

I volunteer at local trail running clubs and events, such as the Finlayson Arm 100K Trail Race.

What specific interests within the field of architecture do you have?

I am interested in Passive Haus design and Affordable Housing design.

Are there specific books for schools of thought in architecture that inspire you?

  • Brunelleschi's Dome: How a Renaissance Genius Reinvented Architecture by Ross King
  • S, M, X, XL by Rem Koolhaas

Is there an architecturally significant city you would like to visit?

Any mid-range City in China to get a snapshot of explosive urban growth, (and its good and bad consequences).
